Kari Rough is the owner of The Charter Room meeting and training center in Kaufman Texas. The Charter Room serves as a resourceful venue for gatherings, training events, and workgroups with a storefront carrying unique finds, journaling, and accessories. The Charter Room is conveniently located in the historical Greenslade Drugstore on the town square across from the Kaufman County Courthouse. It has been recently renovated to offer a variety of shared office and meeting spaces and a multitude of services ranging from business services, DWI classes, family therapy and parent training, skills, technical and art classes, to social and community events. A variety of civic and non-profit groups meet for collaboration of philanthropic and community planning and operations management.

Kari is a founder of the Meagan Rough Memorial Foundation, a Texas 501(c)(3) non-profit organization promoting education and awareness events and scholarships, safe-ride programs and commitment incentives for prevention of impaired, intoxicated and reckless driving. She is a founding member of the Kaufman Downtown Merchants Group who works to improve economic growth and establish events in the Kaufman Downtown District. She is a member of Mission Advancement Development Counsel, National Association of Drug Court Professionals, Association of Fundraising Professionals of the Greater Dallas, Lubbock Area, and East Texas chapters, West Texas Crime Victims Coalition, Peace Officers’ Angels Foundation and the Kaufman Chamber of Commerce. In addition to serving the Purpose Project, Kari has a long history of civic involvement in supporting youth sports, CASA, establishment assistance of the Kaufman County Children’s Advocacy Center and is involved in the Texas Tech University Risk Management training program for student organizations, Mothers Against Drunk Driving and Donate Life Texas. The worship home for Kari and her family is the Kaufman Church of Christ. She, her husband Kevin and two children, Meagan and Kody, are all graduates of Kaufman High School. Kari, Kevin, and Kody remain residents of Kaufman, Texas.
